Get Information on Pregnancy

Most of the time you will get a reliably precise result from a home pregnancy test within a fourteen days after you have had your fertility treatment but the majority of clinics will run the tests on your behalf. Please bear in mind that oftentimes when home pregnancy tests are run too soon after treatment, they can sometimes suggest a false positive answer.

It is normal to find other indications of pregnancy that you will notice, for example: sudden mood swings, sensitive breasts and the need to use the toilet more often, nausea, missing your menstrual cycle, tiredness and heightened sense of smell and taste.

Generally the fertility clinic will keep in contact with you to enable them to carry out checks to ensure your baby’s growth is safe. Some fertility clinics do not offer continuing assistance so alternative measures during pregnancy will need to be sorted out.

Pregnancy

Quite often it takes a short while for a woman to get used to the fact they’re pregnant after a course of fertility treatment so don’t concern yourself if, in the beginning, you are not as excited about as you thought you would be. Don’t be to concerned if you feel this as, many expectant mothers have them when they learn they are having a baby and it impacts those that have had a normal pregnancy every bit with those who have employed the use of a fertility clinic.

Being pregnant after fertility treatment should not be any different than someone who hasn’t gone through fertility treatment however, you may feel it more emotionally stressful. There are some situations which may mean you require additional scans or appointments at the hospital. This might include situations where a miscarriage has happened previously (or stillbirths), if expecting more than one baby and of course, your general health. One essential factor will be the pregnant mothers age because the older you get there is the likelihood that complications can happen.

More than a million children around the world have been born as a consequence of aided conception treatment such as In Vitro Fertilization and the chances are you will give bear a healthy baby. Even with the safety record, you can never say there won’t be any problems that are gone through in a pregnancy, whether it was assisted or not because they all run some risk but the majority of the time these are mainly insignificant. It may not be easy but try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy if at all possible.

It is a harsh reality but the amount of women who miscarry after receiving fertility treatment like IVF is just a little higher than those who get pregnant without help. This is down to two reasons: the first being that a pregnancy test is performed early into the pregnancy following the fertility treatment. Then there is the case where a woman who has become pregnant by the natural route may think she has had a late period but has in fact made an embryo that did not implant correctly. The second reason is because the risk of spontaneous abortion goes up with the mothers age because women who get fertility treatment are, more often than not, more mature than those who conceive naturally. If you are worried about anything related to this, you would be advised to speak to a consultant from the fertility clinic.
