Various Causes of Cancer

Cancer has been a plague on humanity for a long time. I wonder if you can imagine a time when this disease is no longer a problem or when a visit to the doctor for some routine tests does not bring the fear that it does at the moment? Because we don’t fully understand exactly what causes cancer it means that we can only take certain precautions to avoid it.

There are theories that we all have it and it just takes something to start it off, but what is cancer treatment? The word is often used by many to explain something that spreads out of control.

In rare circumstances a benign tumor may turn malignant. It causes more deaths per population than any other illness, a staggering thirteen percent and the older you get the more prone you are to contracting the disease. Cancerous cells may have been transformed by radiation or poison for example and this creates genetic abnormality in those cells which then continue to grow and divide.

For some people the problem lies not with any form of external poison although faults with their parents DNA or genetic makeup can result in a person being born with the diseased cells. It would seem some people are more susceptible to it than others and it may be their genetic makeup and their exposure to certain carcinogens that is responsible.

More knowledge is being acquired about cancer each year. Much of the world’s research into diseases is to try and find the reason why some people do not contract certain diseases while others do. We all want to know more about the causes of cancer what we can do to help prevent this illness from striking.

It is now believed by many that the food we eat could be responsible for many cases. In particular, excess calcium is believed to have a direct effect on the incidence of prostrate cancer amongst men around the world.

Cancer can strike anywhere in the body and each is a specialist type to the organ or part of the body it has infected. The problem is that it can also be insidious and a person may have it for some time before it is diagnosed. It is only a matter of time before a complete cure is discovered.
